After talking with Dan about my "Hmmmm" post on 8-26-08, I am forced to say that I agree with him. There are two main points that I agree with on, and I believe I got wrong in the post.
1) The two examples listed (Pelosi and Michelle Obama) cannot be compared in terms of politicians believing we are ignorant. Pelosi yes, Obama no.
2) I agree with Dan that Michelle's quote was not a direct quote from Obama. Instead it was a synopsis of the meaning behind Obama's speech. I also know, or have found out, that Michelle had worked with that particular author. Her words might have only been the result of influence from her past experiences.
