Fair is fair... isn't it?

Dan, I am having to work harder and harder to try to push buttons:)

Ok we all remember Dan Quail trying to spell potato, and we all know GWB has said some stupid things.  And, I know I wouldn't want to make speeches everyday with people waiting for me to make a mistake (they wouldn't have to wait too long).  But, do you remember the big deal the press made about Quail?  What about how Bush has been made to look like a total idiot?  Why don't I hear a lot about Obama's mistakes?  Heck, even Hillary is being destroyed for making mistakes, so, it can't just be republican vs democrat.  Why not Obama?  What is different about him?  I don't think we should spend a lot of time picking at these people, because they are people and make mistakes, but if we are going to why not do it to him?  ANyways, here are some of his recent mistakes:

On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes -- and I see many of them in the audience here today -- our sense of patriotism is particularly strong."  If they are fallen heroes, how are they there?

And part of what we need is to recognize that oftentimes our women service members are more prone to post-traumatic stress disorder partly because they -- there's a sad, but real, problem of sexual harassment and sexual abuse for women veterans, and that makes them much more prone, then, to have post-traumatic stress disorder.  What?

“In World War Two we didn't have the concept of post traumatic stress syndrome. People had to basically handle it on their own," he said. Referring to an uncle who had been one of the first U.S. troops into Auschwitz, the concentration camp, Obama said: "The story in the family is he came home and just went up in the attic." Auschwitz was stopped by the Russians.

Obama told Larry King on CNN when asked about that anti-Hillary Rodham Clinton YouTube ad, a doctored version of a spot created for Apple computers -- "We don't have the technical capacity to create something like that." It was made by one of his staffers using the same software I use to make my movies.

“In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died — an entire town destroyed.” The actual death toll: 12.

"I would immediately call the president of Mexico, the president of Canada, to try to amend NAFTA, because I think that we can get labor agreements in that agreement right now." Canada has a prime minister, not a president.

"President Merkel is wonderful, and will do great things for her country and for the world.” Angela Merkel is Germany's chancellor, not president.

“Over the last 15 months, we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I’ve now been in 57 states? I think one left to go.” Enough said.

“Sen. Clinton, I think, is much better known, coming from a nearby state of Arkansas. So it’s not surprising that she would have an advantage in some of those states in the middle.” On what map is Arkansas closer to Kentucky than Illinois?

“There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Alabama, because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born.” Obama was born in 1961. The Selma march took place in 1965.

Earlier Obama honed in on the problem with translators in Afghanistan: “We only have a certain number of them and if they are all in Iraq, then it’s harder for us to use them in Afghanistan.” Iraqis speak Arabic or Kurdish. The Afghanis speak Pashto, Farsi, or other non-Arabic languages.

In it, he wrote, was an article and two accompanying photographs of an African-American man physically and mentally scarred by his efforts to lighten his skin. In front of a Sioux Falls, S.D., audience, Obama exulted: "Thank you, Sioux City. ... I said it wrong. I've been in Iowa for too long. I'm sorry."

Obama told a Portland "Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, these countries are tiny compared to the Soviet Union. They don't pose a serious threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a threat to us.”
