Rules are rules for everyone.

Ok, so my comment about King and Queen of mud might have been a little to harsh. My concern is that there does seem to be some time of double-standard at work.

If MSNBC is so sorry for Shuster's use of this phrase, shouldn't they be suspending Olbermann for a similar comment he made about President Bush and Gen. David Petraeus on September 20 on Olbermann’s show? If we are going to censor free speech can’t we at least do in some type of ordered fashion? Even China is at least consistent.

“Mr. Bush, you have hidden behind the general`s skirts, and today you have hidden behind the skirts of the planted last question at a news conference to indicate, once again, that your presidency has been about the tilted playing field, about no rules for your party, in terms of character assassination, and changing the fabric of our nation, and no right for your opponents or critics to as much as respond. That, sir, is not only un-American, it is dictatorial. And in pimping General David Petraeus, sir, in violation of everything this country has been assiduously and vigilantly against for 220 years.”

I would guess that some people would say that Chelsea is an innocent bystander and that she is a female. But, Chelsea is not a bystander, she is actively participating in her mom’s campaign, as any of us would help our mothers. Plus, I do not see that big of a difference between insulting her and insulting a General during a time of war, other than the second will embolden our enemies more, showing that their tactics might be affective by causing a rift in our own political system.

I think they both have the right to say it, it is just that they both should be punished/not punished, consistently by the same company.  I am not upset by either comment but, by the actions of MSNBC.

I also think good old Keith could say Mr. President instead of Mr. Bush.  I know he does it on purpose but....
