A long night for one good line:)

Well, the Boss and I went to a confirmation service Friday night. Like most Catholic ceremonies it seemed to last forever. But, also like most Catholic ceremonies, I heard at least one interesting thing. I guess I should say that one thing that was said by the priest seemed to resonate deep inside of me. The priest was recounting a story about whitewater rafting when he said, “it is a time that we must give ourselves up to a bigger power.” With everything that is happening not only in my life, but the lives of so many of my friends currently, it seems like great advice. This whole thing we call life is really just one very short adventure, and what really counts is not only how we play the game but also how we handle it when the game plays us. Whether it is a newly acquired stutter, too much time alone, a sick loved one, a busy loved one, or whatever your particular need is…just remember sometimes we just have to understand that there is a bigger power. We cannot control every play nor can we control every turn but always remember we all have people around us that will help us paddle when the water gets too rough.
