A simple question...so many answers.

Before I start I must say the first picture is just me playing with the selection tools in photoshop. I also must admit that I did not in any way, shape, or form catch the true beauty of this field.

OK, with that said let us get to the question. How many of you, when you see something open and beautiful, stop to imagine yourself wandering off into the distance? Every time I see this field I picture myself strapping on an overloaded pack and wandering off, slowly fading into the horizon. The only thing traveling with me is the sound of my feet, rhythmic, like the glasses in an apartment that is too close to a train track.

Stripped of the paradigm…just the thump…thump…thump.

I know… I know this probably sounds strange, but sometimes, when I face an open field the horizon seems so big and full of opportunity. Empty of expectations.

Think of the adventure that is provided to us, still we seek movies, television, and books. If we only took it upon ourselves to find the adventure that walks with us through our own life. Sometimes I think I miss so much around me, not that I am not observant, just that I don’t reach for the adventure. I always have a reason, tired, too much work, have to mow, need to cook…none of which couldn’t wait. I wonder if these daydreams of wandering through a field are those moments when I come to a point of realization…only to think “I need to change the radio station”, or “I should call a friend”, or “what do I need to do tonight”. Pushing yet another adventure to the backburner. Well, am I the only one that finds themselves daydreaming?

Ps. I will try a few more pictures of this field when I have more time:)

the old dr says: wander on before it is too late (p.s. take a couple of books with you)

Go Kid Go! And if you want, take your brother-in-law with you! He will make you stop and appreciate the sunset or whatever else might be in - or around - your path!
