This picture deserves a little explanation. I have been on the hunt for wildlife photos for about one year. Really it has been longer, but I would say there has been more effort put into my search pver the past year.
As part of this search I have gone out with my brother-in-law a couple of times. It is fun and he is laid back about it and thinking of him reminds me of a story.
About 5:30 am on a cold fall morning, yes I really did start a story with that cheesy beginning, we had decided to go scouting for turkey in our area. We drove to the local park and began to get ready. You have to understand I did not know what was involved with getting ready for turkey scouting. We started to get cammoed up, I am not much on wearing cammo so this part alone was fun for me. Everything was goin fine until it was time to put on the turkey mask. Apparently turkeys have very good eye sight and could see your face. As he was talking about seeing the whites of your eyes I started to realize I had no clue of how to put the mask on. It is just a little piece of cammo webbing with a spot for your eyes. At this point he just starts to stare at me, with a look that I can't put into words. After about 5 minutes he said "looks good" and we go out. I did not think much more about the mask until the next time I saw him, and several times since, when he reminds me that I can't even put a mask on. An example of this was when I was putting a jacket on and he offered help if I couldn't get it on correctly.
This is a typical long winded way of saying, yes, I now wear cammo whenI go take pictures, and yes this is a turkey, and no, I don't know how to put the mask on. That is why the turkey is far away in the picture.Posted by Hello
